What is ignorance? According to bing's dictionary:
Ignorance IS... lack of knowledge: lack of knowledge or education; unawareness: unawareness of something, often of something important
Other synonyms for ignorance are... bewilderment, disregard, illiteracy, crudeness, darkness, denseness, dumbness, fog, incapacity, innocence, oblivion, incomprehension, rawness, simplicity, shallowness, vagueness...
The connotation for this word tends to be BAD. If you are ignorant you should be ashamed for some reason. I find it ironic that the connotation for the word ignorant is based off of the lack of understanding the meaning of the word ignorant... which completes the cycle of ignorance!! Mind blown, right?!
Personally, being ignorant is a moment in time that EVERY HUMAN HAS DAILY. This moment is an opportunity to learn, to be humbled, to be present, to make a choice to understand, to listen, to critically think and apply and to become EMPOWERED.
What is empowered? According to dictionary.com:
Empower IS... to give power to, or give authority to, to give ability to: enable or permit
Other synonyms for empowered are... entrust, legitimize, permit, delegate, invest, privilege, warrant, qualify, recognize...
CONSIDER...
The question is which would you prefer to be when life happens each moment? Would you choose to be ignorant or empowered? What would you want your friends to be? Your family to be? Your future children to be? How about your community members?!
